Balance takes a very top down approach to daily productivity.

Balance is very goal driven because I strongly believe in starting with your goal or end state in mind, and working your way backward.

That is why Goals in balance consist of Milestones, and Milestones consist of steps.

Goals

Your starting point in Balance OS, goals can be as big or small as you want, but I recommend starting big, and working your way backwards.

Milestones

Milestones are just that, the large steps that will need to take place for you to achieve your goal.

Steps

Steps are the individual tasks that move you towards your next milestone. I recommend making them as small and as easy to accomplish as possible. Think of them as a single step toward your milestone, and one step closer to accomplishing your goals.

Sprints

Sprints are how we prioritize and organize steps. Sprints can be as long as you wish, but I recommend 1 week sprints. This has enabled me to build tremendous constantly in my life, and the ability to break large tasks down and approach my long term goals on an consistent ongoing basis.

Balance is also heavily geared toward planning far in advance toward your long term vision. I recommend planning your sprints in front of you so you do not compromise your momentum when the next sprint starts.
